Encoding is the process of transcoding videotape masters into the MPEG format used by DVDs. Constant Bit Rate (CBR) and Variable Bit Rate (VBR) encoding are hardware based from a variety of digital videotape formats. Our encoding hardware can accommodate both 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratios in NTSC and PAL formats. 3:2 pulldown can also be removed to save disc space and eliminate pulldown artifacts. Audio is encoded as Dolby AC-3 stereo or 5.1 surround sound DVD compliant files.
